La Défense/France – Saint-Gobain has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a glass fiber plant in the United States located in Lexington, North Carolina.

This plant has been a longstanding supplier for Saint-Gobain Certainteed in the United States. It produces high-quality materials used to manufacture glass mat, a key component to produce roofing shingles and high-performance plasterboards such as Saint-Gobain’s innovative Glasroc X moisture-resistant reinforced plasterboard for external applications.

This acquisition will reinforce Saint-Gobain’s supply chain and competitiveness to support its local business model and further strengthen the innovative and differentiated offer of the Group, by insourcing key value-added components. Together with the recent inauguration of Saint Gobain’s state-of-the art glass mat plant in Oxford, North Carolina (United States), this investment will further strengthen the Group’s leadership in light construction in North America.

The transaction is expected to close on July 31, 2026.
