Impellers Resistant Impellers made of Composite Ceramics
Today ceramic components based on oxides, silicates, carbides or nitrides show superior characteristics with respect to strength, hardness, temperature and corrosion resistance.
Ekato develops impellers in composite construction using ceramic materials that reach a significantly longer service life than conventional steel, alloy or titanium components when agitators operate in highly abrasive and corrosive media. Those parts sensitive to wear are designed using ceramic material and the impeller is then mounted to a metal support.
The lifetime is significantly improved due to the resistance of the ceramic. Should a replacement be required, then only the actual wear part is replaced and the remaining parts such as hubs, blade holders, etc. can remain within the vessel. Savings can be achieved with respect to operational and maintenance costs by means of reduced stocking of spare parts and longer intervals between plant shutdowns.
