India: Petrochemicals Reliance Becomes World's Second Largest Producer of PX

Reliance Industries announced the successful commissioning of the last crystallization train (Train 3) of the Paraxylene (PX) complex at Jamnagar.

Mumbai/India — With the commissioning of this plant, the company’s PX capacity has more than doubled, making it world’s second largest producer of PX with about 11 % of global production. The new plant incorporates state-of-the-art crystallization technology from BP.

Pursuant to installation and mechanical completion of the entire PX complex in the previous quarter, the company commissioned the second phase of PX comprising of a second crystallization train (Train 2), Transalkylation and Aromatic Extraction units at Jamnagar in April 2017.
