Romania: Petrobrazi Refinery OMV Selects Axens' Polyfuel Technology
OMV Petrom has selected Axens to supply the PolyFuel technology for its project at the Petrobrazi Refinery. The capacity of the project is 200,000 tons per year.

Bukarest/Romania — The aim of the unit is to maximize Diesel production by converting olefins from LPGs and Light Cracked Naphtha from the FCC into distillates while targeting Euro V specifications for Gasoline and Diesel pools. This unit corresponds to the first reference of PolyFuel, a technology to tackle unbalanced gasoline/middle distillates slates while reaching tighter products specifications. Axens will provide catalysts and adsorbents for the unit.
OMV Petrom is the main crude oil producer in Romania and supplies around half of the internal gas production. The group owns the Petrobrazi refinery, having a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons/year, and is present on the oil products retail markets in Romania and neighboring countries through 780 filling stations.
