Nuberg EPC has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction management service contract for developing Chemfab Alkalis’ 250 TPD Chlor-Alkali plant project in Karaikal, Puducherry, India. The EPC firm has plans to use the latest bi-polar membrane-based electrolysis system technology for the project.

New Delhi/India – Nuberg EPC has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) service contract to develop a 250 TPD Chlor-Alkali plant project in Karaikal, Puducherry, India. The project is owned by Chemfab Alkalis, a leading chemicals manufacturer in India. This project will be Nuberg EPC's first greenfield Caustic Soda project delivery in India.

Nuberg EPC will be executing this project based on the latest bi-polar membrane-based electrolysis system technology. Bipolar Membrane Cell Technology Electrolyzer is environmentally safe, widely used, and is in continuous evolution worldwide. With this, the plant can be easily upgraded to the latest developments in the future and it will need a small maintenance area. The plant is expected to be ready for production in 22 months.

The 250 TPD Chlor-Alkali plant project in Karaikal, Puducherry will produce caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite, anhydrous sodium sulphate, and soda ash lye that can be used by the textile industries, aluminum industries, paper, and pulp industries, water industries, etc.
