Serviceability and Maintenance

The XHD pump’s designers always had two factors in mind: reliability and easy maintenance. To ensure a high reliability, they included design features in critical areas, which reduce wear and extend equipment life while pumping abrasive minerals or aggregates. But also the serviceability was a main issue of the XHD’s design: Several common maintenance procedure can be undertaken while the pump is running, ITT explains.

Some of the XHD’s most remarkable features include:

  • Adjustable suction seal ring (patent pending) — The suction ring can be adjusted even while the pump is running. Its design and the ability to tighten the ring compensate for wear while maintaining a good impeller clearance for peak performance.
  • Split stuffing box — Improves accessibility for easier and faster packing maintenance.
  • Dual rod impeller adjustment — Provides quick and easy access for operators to perform impeller corrections and handling.
  • Replaceable wet end cartridge — Allows pump operators to change parts more quickly and efficiently, with the help of a unique, tapered impeller shaft.
  • i-Alert condition monitor — ITT’s proprietary i-Alert technology measures vibration and temperature of the shaft bearings, and signals users with a blinking red LED in case a potential problem is detected. This allows operators to prevent system failures before they occur.
