Handling powders, particles, and pellets has never been easy. But now, additional factors such as a weakening economy and hesitant investment are making the situation even more difficult for many companies. However, it is precisely this knowledge of how to handle raw materials that also offers new opportunities.

While markets for food and battery raw materials are expanding, driving demand for technologies that enable reliable handling, industries such as chemicals and building materials are struggling. Furthermore, operators and plant manufacturers are experiencing pressure due to the following factors: escalating energy prices, stricter environmental and supply chain regulations, a scarcity of skilled labor, and heightened product quality standards. For example, particles are becoming smaller, sensitive pellets must be handled even more carefully, and moist mixtures make handling more difficult.

In addition, environmental and occupational safety (dust, explosion protection, noise) as well as recycling and circular economy requirements create further technical and organizational hurdles. The construction industry is therefore working intensively on new solutions to reduce CO2 emissions in cement production. In order to reduce production times, waste and product damage, specific product expertise is needed more than ever. The process engineering industry is characterized by a scarcity of skilled workers, which make it challenging to identify practical solutions. It is therefore more worthwhile than ever to look at simulation processes, greater automation or remote services, and modular systems.
