Plant Construction in the US New Nitric Acid Plant Projects in the US
LSB plans nitric acid and nitric acid concentrator plants in El Dorado, Arkansas, USA. The plant operator has already selected Leidos to construction management services for around US $ 82.7 million.
Reston, Virginia/USA – The 360,000 tons per year nitric acid plant and an on-site 40,000 tons per year nitric acid concentrator facility shall be completed by mid-2015, Leidos officials stated. The project scope includes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the outside battery limits, which comprise boilers for steam supply and cooling towers for cooling water supply and return. Already in 2013 Leidos was granted an initial contract to provide EPC services, managing the design and construction of an ammonia plant and associated facilities at the same site.
Leidos engineering solutions group president James Moos said: "We look forward to helping LSB expand its nitric acid manufacturing capability. "Applying our expertise on the construction of the three El Dorado plants in addition to our EPC services for the outside battery limits will help LSB serve its markets more quickly and efficiently."
