Characteristics and Benefits
- Reduced abrasion and material wear: With the paddles moving with a rotation frequency of only 10 to 40 revolutions per minute, abrasion and material wear are reduced to a minimum. This also reduces the risk of material breakage.
- Efficient heat transfer: A homogeneous heat transfer is guaranteed due to the continuous and thorough mixing by the paddles’ opposite rotation and their v-shaped, sloping surfaces.
- Self-cleaning effect: The paddles’ alternating interlocking movements and their proximity to the container’s inner surface provide a continuous self-cleaning of the device.
- Simple control: The drying sequence and residence time can be controlled and set easily thus allowing for customising to the physical characteristics of the material. It is possible to adjust the number of shafts or paddles, the number of revolutions, the temperature and the processing time.
- Low amount of dust and odours: Since only low amounts of gas are necessary for the process sequence in the paddle dryer, less dust and odour is emitted.
- Appropriate for very moist materials: Thanks to the continuous thorough mixing of the material by the alternating interlocking paddles, viscose materials with a very high moisture content can be processed. The dryers design prevents the settling of product deposits by eliminating dead spots.
A unit is available for tests at Nara’s site in Frechen/Germany to enable design data to be calculated for scale up. The company’s service department is responsible for evaluating the end products in its own laboratory, providing a test report for the customer.
