Indonesia: Petrochemicals Mc Dermott Awarded Technology Contract by PT Chandra Asri Perkasa
Under the terms of the contract, Mc Dermott will build 8 ethylene cracking heaters at Chandra Asri Perkasa’s ethylene plant in Indonesia. Once completed, it will be the largest complex in the region which will help to satisfy the growing demand for petrochemical products.
Texas/USA – Mc Dermott International has recently announced that it has been awarded a sizeable technology contract (between 1 million dollars and 50 million dollars) by PT Chandra Asri Perkasa. The contract comprises the detailed engineering of 8 proprietary Short Residence Time ethylene cracking heaters at the latter company’s ethylene plant in Cilegon, Indonesia.
The unit will utilise Lummus Short Residence Time pyrolysis heater technology to produce 1,100 KTA of ethylene and 600 KTA of propylene. This award follows the company's announcement in April 2018 of a contract for the license and basic engineering of the ethylene plant at this facility.
This award will be reflected in Mc Dermott's fourth quarter 2018 backlog.
