A further challenge is the development of a process viscometer which works according to the rotational principle and for direct installation in the main line or tank. The L-Vis 510 inline viscometer from Anton Paar masters these tasks with ease. Independent of position it can be installed directly in the main line, in a bypass or directly in a tank. This gives the operator the highest possible flexibility to define the optimal installation location and reduces the work required for installation to a minimum. Gas bubbles, fluctuations and changes in flow rate do not affect the measurement. The rotational principle even allows reliable measurement of the viscosity of suspensions.

Measurements Without Proper Analysis are of Little Use

Each process measurement is only useful after a suitable analysis, visualization and storage of the measuring data or transfer of these to a central process management system. The company’s evaluation unit with an 8.4“ color touchscreen and an intuitive user interface is therefore a sensible complement to the sensors. In addition to numerical display fields, graphical displays give an immediate overview of the current process.

Standardized Interfaces Allow for Perfect Integration

Standardized interfaces such as Profibus, Profinet, Modbus TCP and EtherNet/IP allow perfect integration into the process environment. Continuous recording and storage of process data and quick and uncomplicated statistical analysis are essential for quality control and optimization. These analyses provide the basis for plant optimization. Modern software solutions give access to these data and analyses from any PC in the network. Current process data can also be visualized. The Davis software meets all these requirements and is easy to operate with intuitive menus. ●
