These business partners share their inventory/stock and track the status of the orders/deliverables on a common database of the SAP module. The computer can perform all calculations and create planned order releases and update inventory/stock position to enable initiation of action from the members of the supply chain. However, the computer’s role is only suggestive in nature; it does not issue purchase or manufacturing orders or reschedule open orders. This serves as a tool for effective inventory management and reduces investment in current assets. This results in enhanced working capital management.
