85 years is a long time, especially in the process industry. Italvacuum was founded in 1939 as a manufacturer of vacuum pumps for the chemical industry. Later, the company expanded its portfolio with a complete range of industrial vacuum dryers, and today is a household name in vacuum drying.

That did not happen overnight, explains Dr. Furio Zedde, business development, product and customer care manager of Italvacuum: “From the first contact or request coming from the customer, Italvacuum’s approach is consultative. We listen carefully to the customer’s needs and together with them we configure the ideal solution,” the vacuum expert says says. “Starting from a pilot phase, with dedicated tests, passing through the configuration of the system, and arriving at the commissioning and after-sales: at each step, we are at the customer’s side, and together with them we design ad-hoc solutions. This has allowed us, over the years, to gain experience that leads us to claim to be specialists in vacuum drying.” A major step on that way was the introduction of the Saurus 939 piston vacuum pump in the 1980s. This sturdy unit combines low maintenance costs and negligible oil consumption with the ability to handle even the most aggressive solvents and heavy-duty applications, Zedde states.
