Dutch specialist for refurbished process and packaging machinery Foeth acquired its Italian counterpart, Intimac, in January. With this strategic acquisition, Foeth strengthens its position as Europe's leading provider of used machinery for the pharmaceutical, chemical, recycling, and food industries.

The exact financial details of the acquisition remain confidential. The partnership creates new development opportunities for employees of both companies — staff in both Italy and the Netherlands will continue in their current positions. No jobs will be cut and no locations will be relocated.

Foeth: Tradition Meets Innovation

Founder Arie Foeth started as a scrap dealer in 1908. He soon discovered valuable machines among the scrap that could be reused. Since then, Foeth has been giving such process and packaging machines a second life with new end users. Today, the inventory comprises more than 2,800 machines, with around 1,000 sold annually. With 50 employees on a 35,000 m2 site and local presence in eight countries across Europe and Asia, Foeth is professionalizing a market traditionally characterized by personal networks through digitalization and e-commerce solutions.

Intimac: Specialist for Pharmaceutical Packaging

Intimac, established over 30 years ago, specializes in machines for formulating and packaging pharmaceutical products. With around 1,000 machines at its location near Milan and 20 employees, Intimac has a strong presence in Southern Europe and America.

Strategic Value

The combination of both companies makes it possible to cover the entire pharmaceutical value chain — from mixing and manufacturing to formulating and packaging. This strengthens the European pharmaceutical and chemical industries at a time of geopolitical uncertainties and ongoing medicine shortages. Following this acquisition, Foeth plans to explore further acquisitions to continuously expand its reach and impact.
