Pastillation Contract Pastillation as a Tool of Cost Reduction
The production of solids of different shapes directly from the melt by means of downstream installed cooling conveyors is offering advantages in comparison to other processing options. Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik have recognized that and added pastillation by means of water cooling systems to their contract services offered.
At the production and processing of bulk materials, companies are often confronted with the choice of whether or not to consider an intermediate step of pastillation to speed up and simplify the process operation. The advantages pastilles bring are obvious: pastilles provide a very continuous material flow; they are dimensionally stable and practically dust-free.
Thanks to the excellent pouring properties, they are perfectly suitable for a lot of processing applications like mixing, transporting, packing and storing. However, many companies are still trying to avoid the investment in appropriate equipment.
The production of granules and solids of different shapes directly from the melt by means of downstream installed cooling conveyors is offering considerable advantages in comparison to other processing options at various products. Besides the continuous material flow, a very homogenous grain size range without significant dust content is provided.
Ebbecke Verfahrenstechnik have recognized these advantages and recently added pastillation by means of water cooling systems to their wide range of contract services offered. At the Schoeneck site near Frankfurt am Main, there are different types of cooling conveyors available for the most diverse applications. Moreover, in the laboratory at Schoeneck product developments can be supported in advance by tests as well as processes improved according to their effectiveness.
On the premises unconnected, strictly separated plants are providing maximum cleanliness at the processing of cosmetics and consumer care products as well as resin, wax and other fine chemicals, minimizing the danger of mutual contamination at the same time. The storage of both raw and finished materials is also handled separately from each other according to orders. Moreover, there is no contact between the cooling water and the product during the complete processing, thus even here a contamination is prevented.
The cooling time and the related solidification time of the pastilles on the cooling conveyors is very short due to the stainless steel’s high thermal conductivity, allowing high volumetric performances of the plant. That in turn manifests in the favorable cost structure of this kind of granulation.
All plants can simply be adapted to the production of pastilles, flakes or coarse plates according to the customer’s demands. Even the grain shape is subject to the wishes of the customers. However, the products are solidified directly from the melt, making downstream mills, crushers or other sizing systems obsolete. Only at the production of flakes, the plant is pre-equipped with integrated sizing systems. In any case, the filling can be installed directly after the cooling device. This method does not only decrease operating costs, it also saves energy - reducing environmental pollution at the same time.
