Solvents Clariant Introduces Advanced Solvents in India
Swiss based chemical company Clariant broadens it product portfolio in India with advanced solvents for pharmaceutical applications. With India's demand for high performance chemicals rising, the company expects huge potentials in the region.
Muttenz/Switzerland; New Dehli/India – Clariant introduces chemical building blocks and enhancers in India. According to speakers, the company sees a huge potential for Glyoxal and Glyoxylic acid in India. The two molecules offer the smallest possible bifunctional entities from which a wide variety of aliphatic, aromatic molecules and heterocycles can be synthesized, Clariant says. This property makes the substances highly flexible to tailor-made C2 derivatives within a wide range of applications.
Also a broad portfolio of solvents can be derived from be these intermediates. The Swiss based multinational now also introduces its advanced solvents Highsolv P99 and Highsolv E9 on the Indian market. Their favourable toxicological properties allows for an easy handling in pharmaceutical applications, officials say. Properties like that could make the new products an alternative for commonly used toxic and
flammable solvents such as THF, dichloromethane, toluene, and NMP.
