Fatal Accident Blast at India’s Chemical Factory Leaves 6 Dead
The blast occurred at Organic Chemical Company’s factory in Gujarat, India. Six workers died of serious burn injuries while working near a rector which exploded during the unit’s solvent distillation process.

Gujarat/India – On April 11, a loud blast was heard at a chemical factory in Gujarat’s Bharuch district near Ahmedabad in India. The incident was followed by a huge fire at around 3 AM at the Organic Chemical Company factory which led to the death of six workers.
News reports state that a reactor blew off during the unit’s solvent distillation process, thus causing the blast and triggering fire at the factory which was later brought under control.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
