Water Treatment Besix of Belgium to Design and Build Water Treatment Plant in Sri Lanka

Besix was awarded the Monaragala & Buttala Integrated Water Supply project in Sri Lanka. This is a design & build contract with a duration of 30 months and this for a total amount of € 23.98 Million.

Brussels/Belgium – The project involves the construction of 2 river water intakes, a drinking water treatment plant with pump house having a production capacity of 6.000 m³/day, 4 ground reservoirs, access roads including bridges, several quarters & buildings and a transmission and distribution network with a total length of about 140 km.

The water produced and distributed up to the Sri Lankan users will provide the necessary comfort to the people of this very poor region. Water is an essential need for the human, access to safe drinking water is also an essential right of everyone on earth, and as BESIX, it is our MISSION and our RESPONSIBILITY to provide safe drinking water and sanitation to people.
