China: Arca Supplies Valves Anti Surge Valves for China’s Largest LNG Tanker
Arca Regler provided the compressor anti-surge valves for the re-liquefaction system on the largest LNG tanker.
Arca supplied four pc valves, installed with the compressor on the “pan Union” tanker. In the meantime the second and third batch of anti-surge valves have been delivered. The tanker will be tested in January to March 2017 and will then be transporting LNG produced in Queensland/ Australia to China.
“Pan Asia” is the first tanker of the Pan Union LNG project and, with a capacity of 174,000 m3, is expected to deliver 1.5 million tons of liquified gas per year. Surging can cause vane fatigue damage in the compressor. Anti-surge valves avoid surging by accurately adjusting the gas circulation or blow-off flow.
