Saving on Life Cycle Costs

When investment and operational costs are examined more closely, the new technology of magnetic coupling and Borosilicate canister is an optimal alternative to all existing models with conventional canisters. Because the difference in price between a pump with magnetic coupling and borosilicate canister and a pump with a mechanical seal is negligible, everything speaks in favour of investing in this new technology.

One example of this new technology is a single-stage, non-self-priming stainless steel centrifugal pump in block design with the patented borosilicate canister. By various geometric optimizations, for example of the impeller, the hydraulic efficiency was increased. These aspects not only reduce the investment costs, but also the energy costs during later operation due to energy savings of about 30 %.

Keep an Eye on Pump Maintenance

Maintenance costs are also reduced, since there is almost no need for maintenance and neither any replacement of a sealing. Such a pump comes standard with soft start which prevents the machine from overloading. This, as well, supports the long-term life of the new technology.

Such a centrifugal pump with magnetic coupling and patented borosilicate canister has been designed for media temperatures up to 180 °C and viscosities of up to 115 mPas. Additionally, it may be applied as standard chemical pump and due to its Atex certification and compliance of the German TA-Luft (Air Quality Control) specifications also in areas with explosion hazards.

Various Areas of Application

Due to their positive characteristics, centrifugal pumps with magnetic coupling and borosilicate canister can be applied in many different production areas, e.g. water management, petrochemical and oil industry, process engineering, general industrial applications, bio technology as well as in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industry. Different media with varying viscosities like sea water, cooling fluids, fuel, biodiesel, lubricating oil on mineral basis, silicone oil, rape oil, acetic acid or ammonia can be conveyed.
