The chemical industry will need to cut its annual greenhouse gas emissions by 186 million tons over the next 30 years to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, shares a press release by the World Economic Forum. This mighty figure is intimidating but major industry players are optimistic of achieving this ambitious target with the upscaling of numerous decarbonization solutions along with the development of innovative technologies. Although, this is easier said than done but the sector doesn’t have an option as time is running out and it’s running out quickly.
