Softing’s new FOUNDATION fieldbus (FF) Mobile Host solution offers the opportunity to develop new hand-held equipment that is able to work in fieldbus networks simultaneously to the host system. Moreover, the new product can significantly improve the functionality of existing mobile devices. The FF Mobile Host solution sets the stage for implementing a hand-held device that supports configuration, parameterization, and instant diagnostics directly on the shop floor. This will considerably reduce the time required for commissioning or troubleshooting any new or existing control application.

FF Mobile Host combines the advantages of Softing’s high-performance portable FF-H1 Host Stack with the industry-proven Fieldbus Kit FBK-2. The FBK-2 hardware has already passed the physical layer and conformance test of the Fieldbus Foundation. The documented programming interface (API) allows the seamless integration of the mobile host application. On request, Softing's team of experts is offering assistance in the development of individual host applications.
