The Microwave system was introduced on the filters and dryers to: substantially reduce drying times, to get an equal drying throughout, to get low temperature drying to facilitate the handling of agglomerating and sticky products to improve product flow characteristics, uniformity and yield to better control the drying process The system design is optimised to ensure good microwave efficiency while avoiding hot spots within the product mass. The system is designed for total prevention of microwave leakage as well as to meet the requirements of the Good Microwave Processing Practice for high microwave densities.
