The 4th ‘China International Import Expo (CIIE)’ showed where the chemical industry in China is heading. At the beginning of November, while climate negotiations were taking place in Glasgow, keywords such as ‘low carbon,’ ‘green,’ or ‘circular economy’ also dominated the presentations of Chinese and international chemical companies at the Expo in Shanghai.

Beijing/China – The international chemicals group Covestro, which originates from Germany, participated for the first time in the CIIE, which was launched by China's President Xi Jinping a few years ago as a significant showcase of the ‘opening of the Chinese market.’
In keeping with the times, Covestro presented itself at its pavilion in Shanghai with the motto of ‘pioneering the circular economy’ and thus a pioneer for a ‘climate-neutral future.’ Alternative raw materials from the product portfolio that promise to reduce the consumption of fossil resources were made the focus of the company's external presentation.
