Fine chemicals producer Cabb starts up the production of monochloroacetic acid (MCA) in Jining, China, the world’s largest market for this substance.

Jining/PR China – CABB news Chinese MCA production plant is a joint-venture with local Jining Gold Power. The 15-million-Euros-project shall produce around 25,000 metric tons of MCA a year, initially as flakes only, and later on in liquid state as well.

“China is responsible for half of global MCA demand, and this demand is growing at an above-average rate. Now, we’re serving this market with local production that sets benchmarks in quality, safety and sustainability”, explains Dr. Uwe Brunk, General Manager of the Acetyls Business Unit at CABB. Peter Vanacker, CABB Group’s CEO, adds: “This investment is a central component in our company’s global growth strategy.”
