Factory Talk Analytics is a smart system that gives users clear visibility into their automation systems — even incorporating a chatbot named Shelby. Easy-to-read dashboards and an intuitive card-based interface highlight and prioritize any problems with connected devices, explained product specialist Gilles Quintelier of Rockwell Automation.
Because Factory Talk Analytics runs on a simple industrial PC, it can quickly be integrated into any network that is based on the Industrial IP standard, Quintelier said. No engineering is required, though companies willing to do the necessary work can use APIs to extract plant data to other systems.
The smart system soon learns which topics are of interest to each user. An engineer responsible for drives, for instance, would train the system by “up-voting” notifications about drives.
Even easier, users can query the chatbot by typing or speaking: “Shelby, how’s my plant today?” Alongside Factory Talk Analytics is Factory Talk Team One, a free app for iOS and Android. As well as providing real-time plant status information, Team One lets operators raise issues, chat and share photos of faulty equipment.
