Europe’s First Lithium Refinery to be Developed in Germany

Under a letter of intent signed between Bilfinger and Rock Tech Lithium, both the companies will work together to build Europe’s first lithium hydroxide converter in Guben, Brandenburg, Germany. On completion, the production plant is expected to produce 24,000 metric tons of lithium hydroxide every year which will prove useful for the batteries of around 500,000 electric cars.

Heidelberg Cement presented its preliminary and unaudited figures for sales volumes, revenue, operating income before depreciation (OIBD) and operating income (OI) for the fourth quarter and full year 2012, together with an Outlook for 2013. Revenue and operating income rose in comparison to the previous year and in line with the outlook given in the 2011 Annual Report.
