Fluor has finished the mechanical construction of The Dow Chemical Company’s new ethylene production facility in Freeport, Texas on schedule.

Evonik has plans to expand its plasticizer portfolio by adding new plasticizer products—oxo alcohol INA and INA-based plasticizers Vestinol 9 and Elatur CH respectively—next year. The new products will be produced at the company’s largest site in Marl, Germany. The move is in line with the company’s strategy of expanding its business with innovative plasticizers of the new generation.

Haldor Topsoe and Green Fuel have signed a MOU under which both the companies will jointly work together to identify efficient and scalable technologies for green ammonia production in Iceland. Green Fuel has also secured a Letter of Intent to operate at the Bakki Eco-Industrial Park in north-east Iceland.

The unique crude oil steam-cracking technology has the ability to convert crude oil directly into ethylene, propylene and other chemical products. The successful trail marks the first industrial application of the crude oil steam-cracking technology in China and will pave the way for transforming China's petrochemical industry. The technology will also significantly shorten the production process, lower production costs and reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The ammonia-methanol co-production technology, jointly developed by KBR and Johnson Matthey (JM), has been selected for Northern Petrochemical's new plant in Alberta, Canada. The project will produce blue ammonia and methanol by making use of the latest carbon capture and storage technologies to achieve a carbon-neutral process.

Hyosung has chosen Innio’s ‘Ready for Hydrogen’ engine technology for the first 100 % hydrogen pilot power plant in the APAC region. To be built at the Hyosung Chemical Yongyeon plant in Ulsan, South Korea, the plant will run on hydrogen which is produced as a byproduct at the facility. The demonstration of the project will be completed by the end of 2022 and will achieve commercial operation in 3Q 2022.
