Dupont-Nextera Enter into Virtual Power Purchase Agreement for Renewable Energy

Under the virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA), the Nextera Energy Resources subsidiary will develop the new wind project ‘Appaloosa Run Wind’ in Texas, USA and will deliver the equivalent of 135 MWs of new wind power capacity annually. The move is in line with Dupont’s Acting on Climate goal of reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 30 % and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

CCS Technology Secures Industry Support in Houston

As many as eleven companies are supporting the large-scale deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology in Houston in order to decarbonize industrial units in the region. Together they are planning to potentially capture and safely store up to 50 million metric tons of CO2 per year by 2030 and about 100 million metric tons by 2040.
