Bio-based paraxylene is one of the vital elements for developing 100 % bio based PET bottles. The companies have recovered high-purity bio-based paraxylene by processing renewably-sourced aromatics made at Anellotech’s TCat- 8 pilot plant.

With the addition of the new plant, the company aims to expand its production capacity by up to 450,000 tonnes per year along the Gulf Coast. Construction work on the project is expected to commence in 2019.

Siemens has plans to build a 8.75 MW carbon-free hydrogen generation plant in Wunsiedel, Germany. The groundbreaking ceremony of this project was attended by the Bavarian Minister-President Dr. Markus Söder. The plant is expected to produce up to 1,350 tons of hydrogen per year using only renewable energy.

Vynova has plans to construct a new potassium carbonate manufacturing plant at its site in Tessenderlo, Belgium. On completion, the new facility will be the largest plant of its kind in Europe.
