BASF starts up its first commercial loopamid plant for recycled polyamide 6 at the Caojing site in Shanghai, China. loopamid is capable of transforming textile waste into a valuable resource, helps save raw materials and closes the textile loop. The unit will have an annual capacity of 500 metric tons.

BASF’s proprietary OASE blue technology will be utilized by Forestal for the efficient removal of CO2 from flue gases for the production of e-methanol at its Triskelion project in Galicia, Spain.

A 54 MW water electrolyzer was recently inaugurated at BASF’s Ludwigshafen site in Germany. The electrolyzer is expected to slash greenhouse gas emissions at BASF’s main plant by up to 72,000 metric tons per year.
