Topsoe has plans to build the world’s largest industrial scale electrolyzer production plant in Herning, Denmark. With an annual capacity of 500 MW along with a scalability up to 5 GW, the project is claimed to be one of the first of its kind.

Black & Veatch has secured a contract by Mitsubishi Power Americas and Magnum Development to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a first-of-its kind advanced clean energy storage project in Delta, Utah, USA. The new green hydrogen hub is expected to convert 220+ MW of renewable energy daily to 100 metric tons of green hydrogen which will be stored in two salt caverns.

BP has entered into strategic partnerships with Adnoc and Masdar for its blue hydrogen project, H2Teesside as well as its green hydrogen project, Hygreen Teesside respectively in the UK. Under the contracts, the Gulf firms will acquire stake in both the projects with an aim to develop low carbon hydrogen hubs in the country.

Under a joint study agreement, Pertamina and Air Liquide Indonesia have teamed up to develop Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) technology at the Balikpapan Refinery Processing Unit in Indonesia. The two firms will jointly conduct a study on CO2 Syngas and Flue Gas capture technology application from hydrogen production at the site.

Nel will be launched the world’s first fully automated electrolyzer production facility at Herøya, Norway. With a current production capacity of 500 MW which can be further increased to 2 GW, the plant is a vital project for the company which aims to achieve 100 % green renewable hydrogen consumption for the world’s industrial and mobility sectors.

Through its wholly owned subsidiary Shell Overseas Investment, Shell signed an agreement with Actis Solenergi Limited (Actis) to acquire 100 % of Solenergi Power and with it, the Sprng Energy group of companies.

Sasol has joined Aireg, the Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy which aims to encourage de-fossilization of the aviation industry. Sasol will bring its expertise with the Fischer-Tropsch process not only to the member companies but also to firms across the entire value chain for producing sustainable aviation fuels.

BP and Linde will be developing a major carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in Texas, USA which will capture and store CO2 from Linde’s hydrogen production facilities in the region to produce low carbon hydrogen.

Under a new purchase agreement signed between both the parties, Neste will supply up to 160,000 metric tons of SAF over the next three years to United flights at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. With this move, United has become the first U.S. airline to make an international purchase agreement for SAF.
