Gevo has broken ground for the development of its first commercial-scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility in South Dakota, USA. The project - Net-Zero 1 will produce low-carbon SAF and construction is expected to begin in 2023.

Topsoe has recently revealed its intention of achieving net zero emissions by 2040. The new targets are in line with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTI) Net-Zero Standard and have been announced post the firm made its earlier target of achieving net zero emissions from its own operations by 2030 public.

Under a framework agreement, SOL Kohlensäure will supply Biogenic carbon dioxide to Covestro’s sites in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The liquified gas will be used to produce plastics such as methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and polycarbonate as well as help the firm towards their circular economy goals.

Solvay and Iberdrola Renouvelables France have plans to enter into a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement under which Iberdrola will supply 60 % of the produced green electricity to Solvay’s industrial sites in Tavaux and Saint Fons in France.
