Under a MOU signed between BP and the Government of Mauritania, both the parties will explore the potential for large-scale production of green hydrogen in the country. BP will conduct numerous studies to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of producing green hydrogen in Mauritania.

The consortium comprising Air Liquide, Chevron Corporation, Lyondell Basell, and Uniper will conduct a joint study to evaluate the development of a hydrogen and ammonia production facility along the U.S. Gulf Coast. If established, the unit is expected to support industrial decarbonization and mobility applications in the region as well as expand ammonia exports.

Mitsui Chemicals and Microwave Chemical will be establishing a new demonstration facility at Mitsui Chemicals’ Nagoya Works in Japan. The unit will demonstrate the innovative microwave-based technology for carbon fiber production.

Under the terms of the agreement, BP will sell its 50 % stake in the BP-Husky Toledo Refinery in Ohio to its joint venture partner Cenovus Energy for 300 million dollars. BP and Canada-based firm Cenovus are also expected to enter into a multi-year product supply agreement.

Under an agreement signed between both the parties, Neste will supply more than 1,000,000 tons of sustainable aviation fuel to the Air France-KLM airline over a period of eight years. Claimed to be one of the largest SAF agreements of its kind in the aviation industry, the sustainable fuel is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 % as compared to the traditional fossil jet fuel.

Neste has supplied over 500,000 gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to the Los Angeles International Airport in partnership with Laxfuel. The large-volume delivery of SAF will enable commercial airlines flying from the airport to reduce their gashouse gas emissions.

KBR’s clean ammonia platform aims to meet the future demand for sustainable energy and fertilizers. The move has been undertaken by the firm as the global demand for clean ammonia is expected to increase significantly in the future.

Borealis has launched its proprietary Borstar Nextension technology which is claimed to be a step change for performance-based polyolefins. The Borstar Nextension catalysts are being produced at a new plant at Borealis’ existing site in Porvoo, Finland.

Mc Dermott has secured a Feed contract from Hydrostor Incorporated for a 200 MW advanced compressed air energy storage facility in Australia. Under the terms of the contract, Mc Dermott will leverage its io consulting and storage business for the ‘Silver City Energy Storage’ project to develop a modularized solution for providing a clean and long-term energy solution.

Wood has secured a Feed contract by Gen2 Energy to develop a new 100 MW green hydrogen production facility in Mosjøen, Norway. The plant is expected to produce around 45 tonnes of green hydrogen daily.
