Emerson’s Data Manager v8.2 analysis software continuously monitors high risk internal corrosion levels in hydrofluoric acid alkylation units to prevent acid leaks and unplanned shutdowns, and offers better predictability of equipment lifespan.

Under the terms of the agreement, Air Products will acquire five hydrogen steam methane reformer production plants from PBF Energy and also provide long-term hydrogen supply to the energy firm. The plants are located in California and Delaware and have a combined production capacity of nearly 300 million standard cubic feet per day of hydrogen.

BASF has recently announced the commercial launch of Fourtune, a new Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) catalyst product for gasoil feedstock. The new FCC is the latest product based on BASF’s Multiple Framework Topology (MFT) technology.

Sunfire’s high-temperature electrolysis technology enables the production of renewable hydrogen and direct conversion of water as well as CO2 into raw material for petrochemical products. Neste intends to use this technology for its new business platform – Power-to-X.

Claimed to be the world’s strongest fiber, Dyneema by Royal DSM has plans to go green. The company has entered into a partnership with Sabic, and UPM Biofuels to create bio-based Dyneema which will be available from April 2020.

Kinetrex Energy, EDL and South Side Landfill have collaborated to establish the mega facility – Indy High BTU plant – in Indiana, USA. The plant is expected to convert landfill methane gas into approximately 8 million gallons of renewable natural gas annually and also reduce greenhouse gas air emissions in the region.

The NortH2 project aims to produce green hydrogen by utilising renewable electricity from a gigantic offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. By 2040, green hydrogen production from this project is expected to be around 800,000 tonnes per year.
