Under a MOU signed between Vow subsidiary Etia and Arcelor Mittal Europe – Long Products, both the companies will jointly work together to construct a biogas plant for the steel industry. Located at Arcelor Mittal Rodange in Luxembourg, the unit will make use of Etia’s pyrolysis technology to reduce CO2 emissions.

Global petrochemical company SK Global Chemical and waste solutions provider Brightmark have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a partnership that aims to take the lead in the circular economy of plastic by construction of a commercial scale plastics renewal plant in South Korea.

Greenergy has plans to invest in Front End Engineering Design of a project to produce low-carbon transportation fuels from waste tires. The new facility is expected to process up to 300 tons of shredded tires each day to produce low-carbon fuels in the first phase. A second independent plant could also be set up to produce sustainable aviation fuel.

The pilot project ‘Chemical recycling of plastics from automobile construction’ is being led by the Thinktank Industrial Resource Strategies at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the car major Audi. Ineos Styrolution and Amsty will be using the Agilyx advanced recycling technology in their joint facility located in Channahon in the USA. With this project, the companies aim to recycle used polystyrene products and transform it into virgin-equivalent styrene monomer.

Total’s Grandpuits refinery in France will be converted into a zero-crude platform for the production of biofuels and bioplastic. The platform will comprise of three new industrial units: a bio-refinery, a bioplastics plant and a plastics recycling unit.

Under a joint development agreement, Ineos Styrolution and Recycling Technologies will aim to create a deeper circular economy for polystyrene in Europe. Recycling Technologies’ unique chemical recycling solution will be further developed to recycle polystyrene commercially.
