Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has selected Eneos Corporation for its ‘Support Project for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production and Supply Chain Development’. The initiative involves the development of a large-scale SAF production facility and the modification of an existing facility at the Eneos Wakayama Plant.

Thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering has bagged a Feed contract for the supply of an automated 4.5 GW electrolyzer manufacturing line for Hystar’s GW factory in Høvik, Norway. With this move, Hystar aims to strengthen its ability to deliver competitive and efficient solutions to its customers for large-scale green hydrogen projects.

Under an agreement signed between Adnoc and Exxonmobil, Adnoc will acquire a 35 % equity stake in Exxonmobil’s low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia production facility which is expected to be developed in Baytown, Texas, USA. The landmark project is capable of producing up to 1 billion cubic feet of low-carbon hydrogen daily.

Solvay has recently inaugurated a regenerative thermal oxidation process at its Green River, Wyoming plant in the USA. The process is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at the plant by up to 20 % annually and support a 4 % reduction in emissions at the Group level by 2025.

Hycamite TCD Technologies has recently inaugurated Europe’s largest methane-splitting plant in Kokkola, Finland. Once fully operational, the nominal capacity of Hycamite’s Customer Sample Facility is expected to reach 2,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen and 6,000 tonnes of high-quality carbon annually.

Saudi Arabia’s first CO2 Direct Air Capture test unit is a pilot plant developed in collaboration with Siemens Energy and is capable of removing 12 tons of carbon dioxide per year from the atmosphere.

Clariant’s deoxygenation catalyst from the Envicat Green series will be used to remove trace oxygen from green hydrogen produced at the facility, before conversion into green ammonia.

Perstorp’s animal nutrition plant in Waspik, the Netherlands has recently announced that it has achieved zero greenhouse gas emissions by reducing its direct emissions (Scope 1& 2) over the year 2024.

Under a collaboration between Henkel and Celanese, both the firms will work together to produce water-based adhesives made from captured CO2 emissions. The move is expected to create new opportunities for customers in the packaging and consumer goods sector to increase the renewable content of their products.
