Under the terms of the agreement, Ørsted and Skovgaard Energy will work together to develop a large-scale Power-to-X facility in Denmark. The project’s first phase is expected to deliver an electrolysis capacity of 150 MW and will be powered by onshore wind and solar PV.

Nextchem has secured a Pre-Feed engineering services contract by Madoquapower2X to develop and operate an integrated renewable hydrogen and green ammonia plant in Portugal. The project is expected to have an initial capacity of 500 MW for electrolyzer and up to 500kt/y of green ammonia, thus reducing CO2 emissions by up to 600,000 t/y.

Repsol, Naturgy, Reganosa have plans to establish a 200 MW renewable hydrogen plant which will initially have a capacity of 30 MW. Once complete, the plant will produce 30,000 tons of renewable hydrogen per year and will then supply it to Repsol’s refinery in A Coruña as well as other consumers.

Ørsted has plans to develop Europe’s largest green fuel production facility for the shipping industry – Flagship One in Sweden. The company has also selected Topsoe for carrying out Engineering, Procurement and Fabrication for the project’s e-methanol technology.

Siemens made its presence felt at the Achema 2022 trade fair through the show’s Green Innovation Zone and Digital Hub. The company focussed on the topics of chemical recycling and hydrogen at the event.

The German research institute Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung has been selected for the international project – Ambh2er which aims to deliver a greener synthesis of ammonia. With 16 partners from science and industry, the project is scheduled to run for four years and intends to contribute towards the European Green Deal.

Plug Power has secured an order by Lhyfe to supply ten 5 MW PEM electrolyzers for the production of green hydrogen which will be mainly used by the firm for various mobility applications in Europe, including forklifts and light commercial vehicles.
