Emerson’s BM6X Series Slam-Shut valve has now been certified for use in hydrogen applications by Bureau Veritas Italia. This means that the valve can be used for gas transmission networks, regulating stations, and end use infrastructure.

Adnoc has entered into a MOU with thyssenkrupp Uhde for exploring the development of commercial-scale ammonia cracking projects. The deal also aims to ship clean ammonia from the UAE to large-scale ammonia cracking facilities across the globe.

Fujian Zhongjing Petrochemical Group has selected Johnson Matthey’s latest butanediol technology to produce 600,000 metric tonnes of bio-degradable plastics annually. This plastic can be used in compostable packaging and decomposes.

The UAE and France have plans to launch a bilateral program under which both the firms will combine their expertise to develop opportunities in order to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries including clean hydrogen solutions for mobility. The program will be launched in the background of the Cop28 climate change conference which will be held in Dubai this year.

In December 2022, Business Finland awarded Neste with a public funding of 27.7 million euros for green hydrogen projects at Neste’s refinery in Porvoo, Finland, aiming to develop solutions for renewable hydrogen production.

Evonik has plans to expand its production capacity of Metamino (DL-methionine) on Jurong Island, Singapore, by 40,000 metric tons to around 340,000 metric tons annually. For this, the project will require technological development which will help in process optimization, thus, improving the carbon footprint of Metamino produced in Singapore by six percent.

Citic Heavy Industries was awarded a contract by Fujian Jianfu Cement to develop a green, smart cement factory in Yongan, Fujian, China. For this, the company used Bentley’s collaborative BIM technology to integrate 3D parametric design of the main equipment, perform construction simulation, and generate a full-process, green cement production plant with intelligent controls. Itwin Services were also used to establish a digital twin which helped to monitor the assets, thus, saving 2 million dollars in equipment maintenance costs.

Enel Green Power has entered into two power purchase agreements with Air Liquide and Sasol for the supply of 220 MW of renewable power to Sasol’s Secunda site in South Africa. The move is expected to decarbonize the Secunda site.
