Trinseo has signed a definitive agreement with The Dow Chemical Company to acquire latex production facilities and related infrastructure at Rheinmünster, Germany. Consideration for the transaction is approximately $ 44.9 million in the form of assumed pension liabilities for transferred employees.

With this move, Eastman aims to support the business strategy of the company’s Adhesives Resins business. The firm will invest in its manufacturing sites in The Netherlands and the USA.

The plant which is capable of converting renewable electricity into green hydrogen can be scaled up from 20MWs to 60 MWs. The move will enable the facility to convert 9,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year and meet the demand for sustainable aviation fuel.
