Siluria Technologies, a pioneer in the commercial production of fuels and chemicals made from clean and abundant natural gas, and The Linde Group, a world-leading gases and engineering company, announced that they have entered into a collaboration agreement.

Wacker Chemie is expanding its production capacity for dispersible polymer powders in Germany. The Munich-based chemical company is currently building a new spray dryer with an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons at its Burghausen site, investing an amount of around € 20 million. German chemical giant BASF announced the construction of a new plant for polyalkylene glycol (PAG)-based lubricants at its Ludwigshafen site. The manufacturing facility will start operations by the beginning of 2016 and produce PAG lubricant base stocks and formulated blends.

In the background of Covid-19, there is an urgent requirement for hand sanitisers across the U.S. Huntsman will donate the first 5-tonne shipment of hand sanitiser to Huntsman Cancer Institute and the associated medical facilities at the University of Utah to help protect the frontline workers treating coronavirus patients.

With an aim to expand Huntsman Corporation’s Specialty Chemicals business, the company has acquired the North American firm CVC Thermoset Specialties for 300 million dollars. The transaction is expected to close this year.

The new plant will be set up in China and is expected to produce 50,000 tonnes of sustainable engineered nylon compounds annually. This decision falls in line with Domo Chemicals’ global growth strategy which strongly focusses on the Asia Pacific region.

Zhejiang Petrochemical has selected Honeywell’s Polybed pressure swing adsorption units to supply high-purity hydrogen for the mega petrochemical complex which is currently in its second phase. On completion, the project is also expected to be one of the largest crude-to-chemicals complexes in the world.

The deal is in line with Singapore Government’s Long-Term Low-Emissions Development Strategy to halve emissions by 2050. Chiyoda has proposed its hydrogen storage and transportation technology for the ambitious plan.
