The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) is a vital process for developing countries that are yet to establish laws regarding chemicals. The Cefic report suggests that the new trade strategy between EU-Africa can be seen as an opportunity to improve chemical safety in the region.

The contract has been signed between Maire Tecnimont’s subsidiary Tecnimont and Gemlik Gübre for the construction of a new urea and urea ammonium nitrate solution (UAN) facility in Turkey. The new plant is expected to have a capacity of 1,640 MTPD of granular urea and 500 MTPD of UAN.
