Celanese has acquired a polyacetal (POM) technology from Grupa Azoty after the Polish company decided to discontinue its POM manufacturing. The global firm will also take over all the existing contracts of the company in order to cater to Grupa Azoty’s customers.

Indorama Ventures Xylenes & PTA has recently launched a new Purified 2,6-Naphthalene Dicarboxylic Acid (PNDA) production facility in Decatur, Alabama, U.S. With the development of this plant, the company has become the largest PNDA producer in the world.

The Plastics Europe association has revealed that European plastics manufacturers are planning a significant increase in chemical recycling investment i.e. from 3.17 billion USD in 2025 to 8.7 billion USD in 2030. Under the Circular Plastics Fund, Dow, Lyondell Basell, and Nova Chemicals have teamed up to accelerate investment in plastics recycling infrastructure. The Fund invites businesses across the plastics value chain to join in advancing the recovery and recycling of plastics in the U.S. and Canada.

BASF and RWE have signed a letter of intent which focuses on a climate-neutral chemical industry and CO2-free hydrogen. Together, they have come up with a project idea which includes the construction of an offshore wind farm with a capacity of 2 GW to produce green electricity and supply it to BASF’s Ludwigshafen chemical site in Germany for hydrogen production.
