BASF and Yunnan Yuntianhua have successfully registered greenhouse gas emissions reductions from the use of Yuntianhua’s stabilized urea fertilizer which contains BASF's urease inhibitor Limus. The pilot project led to the reduction of over 46,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions.

BASF has commenced commercial operations at its Black Mass plant in Schwarzheide, Germany for the purpose of battery recycling. The project is one of the biggest commercial Black Mass plants in Europe and has an annual processing capacity of up to 15,000 tons of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and production scrap.

Under a MOU signed between Enerflex and BASF, both the firms will work together to facilitate the commercial scale deployment of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) applications.
