Shell’s latest annual LNG Outlook stated that global LNG trade increased to 360 million tons in 2020 and is set for growth as global economies recover from the global pandemic.

Air Liquide has developed a new 20 MW PEM electrolyzer which is now producing up to 8.2 tons per day of low-carbon hydrogen in Bécancour, Québec, Canada. The electrolysis unit is equipped with the Cummins technology and is expected to meet the growing demand for low-carbon hydrogen in North America.
Located in Anyang, China, the new CO2-to-methanol plant will recycle 160,000 tons of CO2 per year. Foundation work for the project is currently ongoing and methanol production will commence this year.
With an aim to support large-scale renewable hydrogen production in France, Air Liquide has acquired stake in H2V Normandy which intends to create a large-scale electrolyzer complex of up to 200 MW for the production of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen in the country.

Nextpharma will be acquiring two of Lonza’s production sites located in Ploermel, France and Edinburgh in the UK respectively. Entergy Texas’ Montgomery County Power Station began commercial operations on January 1, 2021. The power station utilized two Mitsubishi Power G-Series air-cooled advanced class gas turbines to provide 993 MW of clean electricity to Southeast Texas, USA.
The gases group Linde has signed a long-term contract with the Hungarian chemical company Borsod Chem to supply nitrogen, oxygen and compressed air to the chemical complex in Kazincbarcika.
