The first player in the market to mass-produce these batteries will enjoy a significant advantage over its competitors, thus, chemical companies are also looking to develop unique solutions for these batteries.

With an aim to expand the green hydrogen economy within Europe and across the globe, Cummins has plans to develop a new gigawatt PEM electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Guadalajara, Spain. The project is expected to produce 500 MW of electrolyzers annually and can be scalable to produce more than 1 GW every year.

On a recent visit to evaluate several level transmitters on chemical storage applications at a new combined cycle power plant, Magnetrol-Ametek had the opportunity to work with the EPC firm, plant personnel and the chemical supplier. This provided an interesting look at the level instrumentation package for the chemical storage side of things from an engineering perspective, as well as from a daily operations point of view.

HIF Global will develop the e-fuels plant in Matagorda County in Texas, USA and the project is expected to produce 200 million gallons of carbon-neutral gasoline annually. Construction of the plant will begin by 2023 and first production is scheduled for 2026.

Global Amines’ new fatty amines production plant is now on stream. Located in Singapore, the plant will supply fatty amines to the company’s customers across the globe in the background of its high demand.

Under an agreement signed between both the parties, Total Energies and Saria will work together to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on the Grandpuits zero-crude platform in France. Saria will supply used cooking oils and animal fats as feedstock to produce SAF.

Total Energies and Holcim have collaborated together to study various energies and technologies for developing an efficient CCUS system which will help to decarbonize Holcim’s entire cement plant in Belgium. The partnership will also aim at establishing renewable projects to power an electrolyzer in order to generate green hydrogen for e-fuels as well as to power Holcim’s new oxyfuel kiln.
