Pfeiffer Vacuum has opened its new production facility in Cluj, Romania. The new building has increased the production and service capacity for turbopump and backing pump components.
Asslar/Germany — The company's new building with a production area of 4,300 m2 is located in the Nervia Industrial Park in Apahida, Cluj. The city of Cluj is located in the northwest of Romania. With around 320,000 inhabitants, it is the second largest city in Romania. As a business location, Cluj concentrates primarily on information technology, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering sectors. The city has set up four industrial parks especially for this purpose. Cluj is the university and administrative biggest center after Bucharest, the capital.
The production and servicing of Pfeiffer Vacuum components for vacuum pumps has taken place in Cluj since 2010. The new building has increased the production and service capacity for turbopump and backing pump components. The new plant is part of the company's new growth strategy including a global investment program with a volume of approx. $ 173 million.
74 employees in Cluj support the workforce at Pfeiffer Vacuum's other production locations. With modern machinery and plant technology as well as qualified specialist personnel, the manufacturer is now even better placed to react flexibly.
