458-Million-Dollar Investment Petrobras to Build New Diesel Hydrotreatment Unit in Brazil
Petrobras recently entered into a contract with the Toyo Setal HDT Paulínia Consortium to develop a new diesel hydrotreatment unit at its Paulínia Refinery in Brazil. With an investment of 458 million dollars, the plant is expected to commence production in 2025.

Rio de Janeiro/Brazil – Petrobras recently signed a contract with the Toyo Setal HDT Paulínia Consortium, formed by the companies TSE and Toyo, for the construction of a new diesel hydrotreatment unit (HDT) at the Paulínia Refinery (Replan) in Brazil. The project will allow Petrobras to increase its production of Diesel S-10 by 10,000 m³ per day as of 2025, the deadline for the plant to start operating.
The investment in the new HDT will be 458 million dollars and the expectation is that approximately 3,000 direct jobs and another 3,000 indirect jobs will be generated in the region during the construction period. With this unit, Replan's fourth HDT, all diesel produced at the refinery will be of low sulfur content, in addition to allowing for increased production of aviation kerosene (QAV).
