Bead and Colloid Mill Milling Systems for Manufacturing Suspensions
Fryma Koruma present a annular gap bead mill and a toothed colloid mill for manufacturing suspensions and other products of almost any viscosity.
Fryma Koruma´s Co Ball annular gap bead mill is an inline milling system for manufacturing suspensions and other products of almost any viscosity. The mill is ideal for superfine grinding of active pharmaceutical ingredients such as ophthalmic medications and sterile ointments as well as numerous cosmetics and chemical applications. The unsually narrow milling chamber is filled between 50 and 80 % full of beads. The grinding energy input can be as much as 8 kW/dm3. Extremely homogeneous results and particle sizes on the nanoscale are possible in this way.
Thanks to the conical geometry of the rotor-stator tool, the mill inputs the milling forces directly into the product. The residence time in the milling chamber is therefore significantly reduced. Despite the high energy input, the process temperature can be precisely controlled because the system mill has a very efficient heat exchange surface. Cooling ducts in the rotor, stator and mill cover prevent the product from overheating.
Another product of Fryma Koruma is the toothed colloid mill series, which make sure each product is milled to correct size. The technology is especially suited for wet grinding liquid to highly viscous products for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical industries. With a choice of coarse, standard and cross-toothed tools, the processing process can be precisely adapted to the product in question.
