Texas/USA – Invista has recently announced that it would continue hexamethylene diamine (HMD) production at its site in Orange, Texas. “Since last year’s announcement regarding ending adiponitrile (ADN) and HMD operations at our Orange site, multiple circumstances have changed, including the Orange site’s demonstrated ability to operate as an HMD-only facility in a safe, reliable and competitive manner,” said Francis Murphy, Invista president and CEO. “We are pleased to be moving forward with long-term HMD production in Orange.”

Invista’s Upstream Nylon business will continue to focus on increasing its ability to reliably supply customers with products in the nylon 6,6 value chain – from ADN to polymer.

Murphy added, “We would like to thank our employees in Orange for their ongoing commitment to environmental health and safety throughout this process. We look forward to continuing to be part of the Orange community and supporting the needs of our customers. We would also like to express our appreciation to Dow Chemical for their partnership in our continuation of HMD operations in Orange.”

“We are pleased with Invista's decision to continue their HMD operations at Dow’s Sabine River Site in Orange, Texas. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to continuing our partnership with Invista for many years to come. This collaboration is not just a business arrangement; it is a commitment to excellence, growth and positive impact on both our companies and the communities we serve,” said Fernando Signorini, Dow Vice President of Operations.
